My roles in schools have varied over time. I have often taken on a teachers role but with the title of 'Trainer' (When teaching gNVQ Information Technology at secondary school), I.C.T. Teaching assistant (when teaching I.C.T. across a whole school), Acting H.L.T.A. (when covering a year 3 class for an entire academic year) and H.L.T.A when teaching across key stages from E.Y.F.S through KS1 to KS2.
I'd like to explain in a bit more depth how those roles worked in order to give you a more rounded view as to what I mean by "teachers role" and to help you understand my skills and experiences. I will be combining experiences in different roles.
I have been responsible for :
-
The yearly curriculum planning for a year group in tandem with a co-teacher.
-
Being the sole provider of whole school yearly planning for Computing as a subject lead.
-
Providing termly and weekly lesson plans.
-
Delivering lessons I have planned - as well as those provided by other teachers.
-
Delivering lessons 'off the cuff' when either technology has failed or a class teacher has not provided planning.
-
Marking children learning (cross curricular).
-
Assessing children's levels, attainment and progress.
-
Communicating with parents/carers about performance and behaviours via parents evenings, phone calls and emails.

Additionally, I have performed a number of more technical duties, I have audited I.C.T. infrastructure, liaised with outside suppliers for the purchase of computers, helped with the installation of a computer suite, performed built a website for a school and maintained the website for another. I have combined teaching and technical skills by teaching after school clubs in computer coding and robot building.
